Geotextiles and geomembranes are the widely used geosynthetic materials in a wide ranges of civil engineering, transportation, aquaculture, environmental and sustainable building projects. BPM was present at the Geotechnical Frontiers in Orlando, Florida USA on March 12th-15th, 2017.
During the Geotechnical Frontiers 2017 event, we had the privilege of hosting partners, customers, engineers, and professors from the geosynthetic industry. The event provided a platform for us to showcase our high-quality geosynthetic products, including geocells, geosynthetic clay liners (GCLs), drainage boards, geogrids, geotextiles, and geomembranes. We had fruitful conversations and exchanges about the innovative solutions we offer.
Geotechnical Frontiers 2017, co-organized by the Geo-Institute and the Geosynthetic Materials Association, was a resounding success with the support of IGS North America and the International Geosynthetics Society. This event served as a prime opportunity for industry professionals to stay updated on the latest developments in geotechnical products and services, all conveniently located under one roof.
Our presence at Geotechnical Frontiers garnered significant attention from leaders in the industrial sector worldwide. The showcase of BPM geotextiles and geomembranes attracted particular interest, solidifying our position as a leading player in the industry. This event holds great significance for the geotechnical, civil engineering, and geoprofessional communities, offering a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and networking opportunities.
1. What are Geotextile and Geomembrane?
Geotextiles and geomembranes are essential materials used in geotechnical and environmental engineering for different purposes. Here’s a breakdown of each:
Geotextiles:
Geotextiles are permeable fabrics made from synthetic fibers, typically used in civil engineering projects. They come in woven and non-woven forms and are designed to perform various functions, such as filtration, separation, reinforcement, drainage, and erosion control. Geotextiles are used in a wide range of applications, including road and railway construction, water management projects, large building foundations, power plant ash dam construction, non-ferrous metal tailings treatment, environmental protection engineering, and soil and water conservation. They provide strength, stability, and durability to the soil and enhance its overall performance in geotechnical applications.
Geomembranes:
Geomembranes, on the other hand, are thin plastic films or sheets that act as impermeable barriers. They are commonly made from materials like high-density polyethylene (HDPE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), or ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM). Geomembranes are primarily used for containment applications, such as lining landfills, mining leach pads, reservoirs, ponds, canals, and other systems where the prevention of fluid or gas migration is crucial. They provide a reliable barrier to prevent seepage, contamination, and environmental damage. Geomembranes are known for their durability, chemical resistance, and ability to withstand harsh weather conditions.
In summary, geotextiles are fiber cloth materials used for various functions in civil engineering projects, while geomembranes are plastic films employed as impermeable barriers in containment applications. Both geotextiles and geomembranes play crucial roles in geotechnical and environmental engineering, offering solutions for enhanced soil performance, filtration, separation, reinforcement, and containment.
2. BPM Geotextiles and Geomembranes Gained Attention on the Geotechnical Frontiers
During the Geotechnical Frontiers exhibition held in America, BPM Geotextiles and Geomembranes garnered substantial attention and resulted in a fruitful business agreement. On the exhibition’s second day, an Australian client approached our booth to discuss their interest in ordering geomat and smooth geomembrane liner products.
After engaging in two hours of productive negotiations and taking into account our GM special policy, we swiftly made the necessary adjustments to our production process to meet the client’s specific requirements. As a result, we successfully secured a contract with the Australian client, amounting to USD 103,500 for the supply of Geomat and geomembrane liner goods. This accomplishment marks a significant milestone for BPM and serves as a testament to our unwavering commitment to future growth and our esteemed reputation in the global market.
The successful negotiation and contract signing at Geotechnical Frontiers not only paved the way for BPM’s expansion into new opportunities but also highlighted our unwavering dedication to offering high-quality geotextiles and geomembranes. This achievement further solidifies our position as a trusted and reliable provider within the industry, bolstering our ongoing efforts in global marketing development.
