High density polypropylene geomembrane liner, also know as HDPE geomembrane liner, is the widely used geosynthetic material for the anti-seepage lining projects in mines, ponds, dams, solid waste disposal sites and other industrial projects. BPM high density polypropylene geomembrane liner is made of finest quality high density polyethylene (HDPE) with specially formulated, virgin polyethylene resin, combined with specified quantity carbon black, antioxidant, anti-aging agent and UV resistance components, which makes our HDPE geomembrane liner with excellent resistance to UV radiation and is suitable for exposed conditions. Generally, polypropylene geomembrane liner can be divided into smooth geomembrane HDPE liner, textured HDPE Geomembrane, composite geomembrane liner, etc. The smooth geomembrane HDPE Liner is available in three different colors such as black, white and green. The textured geomembrane can be fabricated with single or double-sided surface. ODM, OEM or customization are also available for your project demands. As the cost-effective and preferred anti seepage lining material, high density polypropylene geomembrane liner have been used significantly in the mining industry since about 1970 especially for evaporation (or solar) ponds for recovery of salts, heap leaching of mineral-bearing rock, and disposal of mill tailings.
During the heap leaching process and in the tailing ponds, a lot of chemical sustenance and heavy metal will generate, and uring the gold mining process, a large number of tailings are produced. The tailings contain not only useful components such as reselectable metal or non-metallic minerals, but also final tailings that are not reselectable. The tailings contain a variety of heavy metals and residual ore dressing agents, which are exposed to natural wind and rain. The sulfides produce acidic water and further leaching heavy metals. If not properly stacked and treated, the loss will cause serious damage to the soil and the ecological environment. When the tailings are stored, they are easy to flow and collapse, causing vegetation damage and injury, especially in the rainy season, which is easy to cause collapse and landslide. The harmful substances in the tailings are also very harmful to the environment. After the soil is polluted, it will be salinized and poisoned. Pathogens and other pathogens in the soil can make people sick, and penetration will also pollute the groundwater and eventually enter the food chain. The top end of the battery can cause serious harm to the human body. The tailings pond has a high dam body and there are hidden dangers. When tailings are stored, they are easy to flow and collapse, causing vegetation damage and injury, especially in the rainy season, which is easy to cause collapse and landslides. It is also likely to cause environmental pollution, soil erosion and vegetation damage in the mining area.
Evaporation ponds and heap leaching are the largest applications of HDPE geomembrane liner in mining, and heap leaching is the most complex. Water is pumped through wells into and out of the underground salt formations bringing the brine solution to the surface, where the sun evaporates the water, leaving the salt for recovery. Heap leaching has become the preferred method of recovering minerals from low-grade ore from open pit mines. Copper, gold, silver and other metals are most common. The metal deposits are dissolved by chemicals applied to the top of the heap of ore, which eventually leach to the bottom of the pile. The HDPE geomembrane liner helps the solution to preven it from migrating into the ground, before directing the solution by gravity to a collection system. The solution is sent to a refinery where the metal can be precipitated out and the solution sent back to the heap to be used again to dissolve more metal.
Mongolia is rich in various metal mineral resources, such as copper ore, iron ore, and fluorite ore. Many foreign businessmen had invested in mining in Mongolia area, but the local government has strict requirements and supervision policies for the anti-seepage treatment of tailing ponds. In 2020 September, Mongolia fluorite ore customer asked us about the prices of 1.2mm high density polypropylene geomembrane liner and 300gsm non-woven geotextiles. The mining site is located in a remote mountainous area in Mongolia. The road and local harsh conditions have increased the difficulty and cost of construction. Construction requires large generator sets and large construction machines to complete the work. So there is a long time for customers to check our product quality and engineering construction drawings details. BPM Customers sent us their construction drawings and the problems they may encounter in foundation treatment. The local area is in a mountainous area, and there is a deep trench at the bottom of the pond. Based on the valuable experience of our professional construction team for many years, we have designed a reasonable construction plan for customers for reference.
After our detailed study for their project drawings ,we proposed to them three kind of geosynthetic products such as HDPE geomembrane liner, geocomposite and geotextile fabric. Composite geonet is made from geonet bonding two layers of geotextile which combines the properties of geotextile filtration and geonet drainage and protection, provide complete “inverted filter-drainage-to-protect”effect. The three products composite a tight waterproof and drainage system for the mining tailings pond.
The customers let us help them calculate the actual amount of high density polypropylene geomembrane liner and non woven geotextile. After years of experience, the BPM design department measured the loss of geomembrane. The customer needed 170,000 square meters of HDPE geomembrane liner and non woven geotextile. And we also made a series of shipment plans and installation details analysis. In the treatment of tailings ponds, composite drainage nets and geosynthetics clay liner are also needed same quantity with geomembrane.
